Out of (Ab)stand129

Facebook Event

The onset of COVID19 and the impact it has had on our communities within Austria have been quite a different experience to elsewhere in Europe. Measures (unlike on our borders with Italy to the West) were taken early, were fairly lax and agreeable, and were lifted sooner than our European counterparts.

Yet, the conflation of social and physical distancing and the impact of this phenomenon has undoubtedly left an impact on us and will affect our existence permanently.

How to communities in need find a space for socialisation and support? To what extent can communities and cultural actors now reintegrate into cultural consumption and socialisation? How can novel ways of approaching this positively impact the new world we emerge into? These are all questions the Out of (Ab)stand129 project addresses.
