to speak to thrive and to live - Popfest Wien 2022

July 28-31, 2022

to speak and to thrive and to live is a multimedia installation at Club U featuring Viennese and Vienna-based artists and musicians who similarly make space for broad socio-cultural expression. The title, a reference and homage to the recently late bell hooks who proposes a concept of ‘queer’ not as an adjective but a verb, like many of her other works which aim to inspire to act rather than label:

“[but] queer as being about the self that is at odds with everything around it and has to invent and create and find a place to speak and to thrive and to live." bell hooks
